Her name has become synonymous with prestige bridal, yet Joan Dominique began the company as a men’s shoe designer. She was studying at Parsons the New School for Design located in New York City and, throughout her education career, she chose to obtain as much industry experience as possible by working for Diane Von Furstenburg, Alice + Olivia, Kenneth Cole, and others. Born in Paradise Valley, Arizona to an American mother and a Canadian father, Dominique grew up in the dry Sonoran desert with the backdrop of the iconic Camelback Mountain for a backyard.
